Peel the pears, leaving the stems on. Cut a thin slice off the bottom of each pear so it stands up, then core it from below with a melon baller.

In a saucepan tall enough to hold the pears upright, combine the water, tea bag, cinnamon stick, star anise and orange zest. Bring to a boil, then remove the tea bag.

Stand the pears in the liquid; they should be almost covered. Cover and simmer for 20 to 25 minutes, turning them halfway through, until tender when pierced with a knife.

Serve warm or cold, with a spoonful of Greek yogurt and a pinch of cinnamon.

Notes

The poaching liquid is not counted in the calories. The pears keep 4 days in the fridge in their liquid.
